People living in the Lebanon refugee camps lack access to the most basic facilities and health services. The camps are recognised as having some of the most deplorable conditions in the world, with a much higher maternal mortality rate of 42.1 per 100,000 live births than those residing in camps in other countries.
We recently received a request for funding from the organisation MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) which was supported by the Fire Brigade Union.
Our donation of £10,000 will support one midwife for 6 months, providing comprehensive treatment.
