“Would you like to give birth here? NO! nor should anyone!”
The TUUT Charitable Trust received a request from Ashanti Development (a UK based charity set up by Ghanaians living in London to improve the lives of those left in their home villages) for £6,000 to support their project to renovate the Mampong Maternity Hospital in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The hospital was established in 1954, has 55 beds catering for 2,000 deliveries a year, and is the principal point of referral for maternity cases in several neighbouring districts. Furniture is cracked and old, essential equipment outmoded or unusable.
Our donation should supply them with an ECG scanner, Ultrasound machine, Sonic Aid, Delivery set, patient monitor, Air conditioning unit and plenty of paint ( they supply the painters) !!!
We look forward to receiving a photograph once the work has been completed.
