Supporting Bexley Foodbank

“Bexley foodbank does a great job in feeding local residents and their children who would otherwise go hungry” The TUUT Charitable Trust in association with Old Bexley & Sidcup Labour Party were pleased to offer a donation of £5,000 to support the work of the Bexley Foodbank.  Since it was set up in 2012 requests from those in crisis have increased nearly seven-fold to 7,833 including 3,151 children. The sadness is that its existence should not be necessary, the benefits system should be made fit for purpose, more social housing made available and there should be secure, reasonable paid jobs rather than minimum wage zero hour contracts. Supporting the Mampong Maternity Hospital renovation

“Would you like to give birth here? NO! nor should anyone!” The TUUT Charitable Trust received a request from Ashanti Development (a UK based charity set up by Ghanaians living in London to improve the lives of those left in their home villages) for £6,000 to support their project to renovate the Mampong Maternity Hospital in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The hospital was established in 1954, has 55 beds catering for 2,000 deliveries a year, and is the principal point of referral for maternity cases in several neighbouring districts.
